Funny thing...I used to dislike Hyndai's. I've always been pro-Toyota, or anything that was fancier and had a price tag of more than a case of beers and a braai pack.
To be honest, I judged before I even tried it. Very biased, I know. It's amazing what a tremendous impact the influence of your friends and colleague's can have on a young and impressionable mind.
To the point. I started driving a Hyundai Accent, because I was reliant on my fiance for transport. Long story. I started to realize, after a couple of years, "hey! We've never had a break down!". Not only that, the fuel consumption sits pretty on our tight budget. Even though it is a 1999 model, that making it almost 14 years old, it's never given any major hassles. It goes in for a regular service, but that's the norm, or, rather, it should be.
It's very smooth too. It hits 120kph, and doesn't do the dreaded shaking till the wheels come off, like certain vehicles are so inclined to do. And like I said, fuel consumption is fantastic. Also, it's built like Iron Man's suit! I had an accident not too long ago, and lets just say...the other fancy new car came off second best. The "bullet" only suffered a minor scratch on the rear bumper. FTW!!
So, if you have ever thought about, or debated with your other half about getting a Hyundai...take it from me, it's worth it!
