The Atos is the perfect car to use for a learner driver. Small, easy to maneuver and moderately quick. I passed my drivers in my mother's car. It fitted into those nasty parallels like a charm.
The Atos' first two gears are incredibly mediocre. You're not going to get anywhere very fast, unfortunately. But once you get into the third gear the car catches a wake-up and starts cruising nicely. From third gear forward the car performs quite nicely for the price you pay.
The space in the back is also very good. I took my girlfriend to the drive-in and it was just the perfect size to get close and snug during winter to watch a nice movie on the big screen. Boot space however is another problem. The boot space only allows at least 2 school bags to fit, if you fit 3 in, getting them out is a mission. But if you're just putting your groceries in, it should let you put at least 5 packets in...so not too bad.
Overall, the Atos is not a bad car at all. It is the perfect car to teach someone to drive in because the clutch is just right to teach clutch control on and it is not too fast so your newly appointed driver won't go over the speed limit too fast ;). I am very happy with the Atos, although for university, I want a car that doesn't scream, "I'm a granny!!!" Also long distance rides might be unsafe seeing as though there are no airbags in the car. But otherwise the Atos has become a character in our family, and a respected addition as well.
