I recently got the chance to take a friend's Mercedes Benz C-Class for a spin.
I am in the market for a good second hand car and I thought that an older Merc might be the way to go.
Whilst it is a good decade old, you wouldn't know it. It has hardly had to be serviced and still drives beautifully. One thing I will say is that it is a bit heavy when you first take off, but once you are on the open road it drives like a dream.
Safety-wise it feels like you are in a cocoon. Mercedes are known to built well and with airbags and a very solid feeling frame, you feel like you can with stand any collision (obviously this is not recommended).
Depending on the mileage a second hand Merc can be value for money in terms of purchasing price, but from what I have experienced the older ones tend to drink petrol. This is of course a problem for the wallet.
Whilst I loved driving the car, not sure if it is the best in terms of getting a quality car at a reasonable price.
