We already had a 4-seater but according to Hub the Golf wasn't a real family car. So one day we drove past a Volkswagen garage and he fell in love with the Polo Vivo on display. It wasn’t his first choice. He wanted a Lacer and I wanted Edward Cullen's Volvo. But both were a bit above our price range and we knew with little Zanre going to school in a few years that the services will become a bit pricey. I don't know a lot about cars - Jeremy Clarkson taught me everything I know - but I do know that the most cost effective cars would be Toyota, Nissan and Volkswagen. We stopped and went to take a better look. The manager went in "Need for Speed" mode and opted for GTI mags and a spoiler on the boot. This made "our Vivo" stand out from the crowd! We immediately took it for a test drive. Hub liked the feel of the car while it's driving. All Zanre could say was "Die seat is n bietjie hard!" All I wanted was the big boot. I didn't care that it had power steering and ABS and all those things. We did the paper work and the next day the agent phoned to say that we could come to pick up our car. We were thrilled. This was our first brand new car which we were going to be paying on our own. Everyone agreed that we made the right choice. Even my Skoonpa was impress. We tested the Vivo's (who doesn't have a name yet) petrol consumption when we drove from Middelburg To Monte Casino for the Twilight premiere. It was raining and we got stuck in traffic but Hub was very impressed when we got 17 km per litre. With the aircon on, I might add! We are very pleased with the car. So far no problems! It's drives like a dream! We will be taking our new baby to see the ocean for the first time later this month. Will let you guys know how good a Polo Vivo is as a family car and if it survived a bored 3 year old who needs to sit still for 1o hours.
